New to Active Rain - Need a Little Help

By
Real Estate Agent with Van Dyk Group

I see that everyone in the Newbies group has introduced themselves so I thought I might as well do the same.  My name is Jennifer Kipila.  I am a real estate agent in Barnegat, NJ.  I work as a part of the Muldowney "Family" Team. The team consists of myself, my mother, my father, and my sister just joined the team.  We have focused a lot of our time on the internet and marketing ourselves through the Internet and blogging is our newest endeavor.

I seem to be catching onto a lot of things on Active Rain, but a couple of question I do have:

1. I have joined a couple of other groups besides Newbies.  Does anyone have a suggestion of other groups to join?  There are so many groups that it is hard to know what to join.

2. Also, when posting, it is sometimes hard to know where to put your post. Any suggestions?

Thanks for any help.

Welcome to Active Rain Jennifer and the Muldowney Team. I wondered the same thing when I started and my solution was to read lots of posts and get a feel for them. I began to watch the groups that people would put their posts in and kind of figured it out from there; what groups to join and where to place my posts.

Warm welcome to ActiveRain Jennifer! Make sure before you post to a group that you read the groups guidelines. That way you won't get booted off! Have fun!

Hi Jennifer and welcome to Active Rain. I would suggest reading blogs in the various groups and joining some that interest you. Since you do alot of internet marketing etc... you may want to check out some of the groups. There is a SEO group...they are always giving tips on how to get #1 placement with your website.

Hi Jennifer - Great questions. When writing to your peers here on AR, by all means go for the max amount of eyeballs particularly if you want to generate some good comments. Groups like "REALTORS" (the biggest!), "The Art of Marketing You" and "The e-Pro Group" are three of the larger groups you may have some shared things in common.

Hello Jennifer!

When I read other folks' post, I check out their profile and see what groups they are in.  If it sound interesting, I'll check out.  That's how I've gotten so many groups under my belt.  Hope that's helpful & have fun!

Hello: My name is Nadia Martinez and I'm new to Active Rain, I signed up a couple of weeks ago but have not left any comments because I was nervous.  I didn't know what to expect as there are so many people on the web, and is afraid of meeting the wrong people.  I'm a real estate student and I'm currently enrolled in school and have just completed one of my classes for the semester and I'm very happy that I hung in there.  Now I have to prepare to take the exam to get my license.  Any suggestions on what I should be looking out for?

Sincerely Nadia Martinez

Nadia - In terms of Active Rain, everyone has been so great and helpful here that I wouldn't worry about being nervous.  I think we all are when we begin tackling blogging.  In terms of  the real estate exam, I would suggest just looking over your books and whatever notes you have.
