Be Careful Online

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Referral Group Incorporated

I bought a MacBook a few years ago and have never looked back. Once I mastered the operating system which took a couple of weeks, I was good. Unlike my windows machines which became obsolete in no time, my Mac is intuitive and is hardly ever plagued by anything I haven't created myself.

Yesterday I was online and my computer popped up with a deadly message which scared me big time. I didn't click on the link but called Apple instead. They were great and ran a scan for me that detected some malware I probably inadvertently downloaded from Facebook. I'm better now now but am certainly going to be careful about margin entries that make me curious. Be careful out there.

Sheila we must be extremely careful - there are nuts out there. I ran across some on FB this morning and now I unfriend them - I just don't want all that negative vibe coming into my line of site. Glad you got your issue solved quickly.

You might want to download malwarebytes and run it on your computer, Sheila. The premium version is now free for 30 days before it reverts. You could use either version, though. I think one is automatic and one is manual, and manual is free.

It is very scary when something is wrong with our computers, as we rely so heavily on them these days.  I try not to download anything from the internet.

Hi Brian. I never download anything from the Web unless absolutely necessary: like a Visa Application. Otherwise I am careful but I apparently clicked on something that made this happen. TY     Sheila

I have noticed that Facebook has a number of cutesy little quizzes that come up, which are possibly full of malware.  It pays to be cautious!

I really don't like FB and try to avoid going there.  I will post stuff from my phone and that's about it.  It's really crappy when you can get nasty stuff just by going there.
