THE AMERICAN IDOL...Did America get it right this time ? compare them to a vacant and a Staged home !

So we have a new American Idol !

I really thought david Archuleta was going to win. don't get me wrong I believe David Cook should have been #2. David Archuleta was never in the bottom 3. He prove to be consistently good. I was so sure he was going to win, I voted over 5o times !!! especially after that last night of competition !!! He was outstanding the "American Idol" . When the result night came David Cook won for over 14 million votes !!! WOW ! , he had a terrible last event, he did not shine like he did many times, and judges had declared David Archuleta as the winner that night. I guess his frustration tears won over America's Heart. Congrats to both and their future is safe as entertainers. Why do you think Archuleta lost? let me know your thoughts...

I am sure The new STAGER IDOL will be announced soon !

Now, think of these 2 contestants as a vacant home for sale and a Staged home for Sale. Why was it that David Cook attracted the most votes, I think it was the whole packaging, just like on a vacant home. I compare David Archuletta to the vacant home, it showed good but not at its best potential, he was not adorned with personality, so it was hard to identify the potential he had. On the other hand David Cook was "Staged" all the way, knew how to express himself, showed more versatility, just like a Staged home does. ...

Isn't it funny when we look at it from that perspective ?

I don't watch idol. My wife does. She liked David Cook best. I saw a performances of each and thought they were both exceptional, but Cook being a little more polished. Did watch him with ZZ Top last night. That was pretty good.

So, yeah, I guess David C had a little more Stage(d) presence that David A.

I like David Cook better and Simon did say that after he reviewed the show he thought he had been to harsh with David C. David A. seems like a talented kid and I am sure they both will go far.

David Cook desrved to win. I voted for him not based on his performance in a single show, but as a compilation of his performances over the whole season. David Archuletta sounded the same in everything he did where David Cook show a depth and scope in his performances. No question though... they are BOTH talented young men!

David Cook was much better rounded. I was a little tense after the final round though. David A picked songs the subliminally tried to cast the vote for him. He did a great job, but not good enough all around ;)

Fernando I usually agree with you but when David Cook one my 12 year old daughter and I were off the couch, hands in the air and doing the dance! Just love him. Love the young David too he is so darn sweet, but he just wasn't "it". When Hicks won a few years back I just couldn't believe it, and now he is gone and doesn't even have a record deal. Cook deserved it. His maturity and originality just won me over - and besides it didn't feel right having a crush on a 16/17 year old Ha! I still have the hots for the Australian and was so sad to see him go!
