Today is a day of honor, memory and thanks to those who have and are currently serving. Many of you know from my mothers' past post that her Father, Peter F. Provenzale served as a Navigator on the B-17 Bomber during WW2. Below is a brief snipped of his story.

This crew baled out of this airplane on their 24th mission. It landed in the English Channel.

During his first mission, B-17 Navigator Peter F. Provenzale was struck by bullets but, continued to defend his crew. The airplane was damaged beyond repair. Nose damage, controls were to ruined, inboard engine shot out and radios were inoperative.
