As a real estate agent, I spend a lot of time in my car. Which means I listen to a lot of music. My car is equipped with Sirius XM, Bluetooth, Pandora and a CD player. So I am never without access to great music. Chances are that if you were driving next to me you might catch me singing along with the radio. It’s OK, I will just pretend I am talking on the phone.
Every so often I stumble across a song that is a great update of an old standard. Today I am going to feature one of those songs. It is another duet, this time it is one that was originally recorded by one artist and another young artist electronically overlaid their own tracks to bring it into a modern genus.
Here We Go Again is one of Ray Charles’ old standards. Originally recorded in 1967, this recording featured Billy Preston, the fifth Beatle, on keyboards. In 2011 Norah Jones took the song and added her own sweet voice to Ray’s soulful tracks. It’s a collaboration with two great artists that shows how timeless the song was when first recorded. It left a legacy for us to remember.
So thanks to Norah Jones for bringing us, Ray and Billy. Here We Go Again.
