Okay, I admit it. I just need to brag on our team of staff and agents at Lake Homes Realty across the country.
Today, Inc. magazine today released their 37th annual Inc. 5000 list. If you are not familiar with this list, it is widely considered as the most prestigious ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies.
Why does this excite us? Lake Homes Realty was ranked number 1582 in the country, amount companies in all industries.
Even better, this is the second year in a row for our company to be featured on the list.
When looking at the rankings by industry, Lake Homes Realty was ranked #1 in Real Estate for the state of Alabama. For all industries in Alabama, the company was ranked at number 13.
Inc. explains that their list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment - its independent small businesses.
Some of the world’s most famous companies like Microsoft, Dell, Domino’s Pizza, Pandora, Timberland, LinkedIn, Yelp, Zillow, gained their first national exposure as honorees on this list.
In 2013, we set out with the idea that we could provide national service at a local level for lake home buyers and sellers.
This niche is interesting as almost every buyer is not local, yet there has not been an easy way for these buyers to search multiple lake markets in one website. That is, not until our team built that tool, then added our own local licensed agents to help these buyers and the local sellers connect.
Currently, we are already licensed as a full-service real estate brokerage in 23 states, and will have grown to a total of 28 states by the end of the year. We'll add more states next year too.
LakeHomes.com, a core tool of Lake Homes Realty’s business model, is positioned to see more than 3.5 million visitors in 2018. By comparison to Zillow, that is nothing. However, these are the right people, those really interested in exactly our properties.
We don't need to help everyone with real estate, just those people who really need our help.
This has been such a great year for our company, and the fun part of all this is that we believe we are just getting started!

Inc. 5000 Methodology
The 2018 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2014 and 2018. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2014. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2017. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2014 is $100,000; the minimum for 2017 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons.
