Wenatchee: Air Quality Update 11:00 Aug. 15, 2018

The wildfire smoke continues to smother the State of Washington and the Wenatchee Valley is suffering from "Hazardous" air quality conditions.  

Here is the current air quality index registering on Fifth Street.  I walked out to get my garbage can off the street late this morning and came in with burning lungs. I wasn't out there more than 2 minutes.

Stay safely inside everyone!

We were in the red - unhealthy, can't imagine how bad it is your way. I'm also praying for those fire fighters...another tough year for them. We need rain. :(

My brother still lives across the river from you in Corbett.  He said it's been over 60 days since any rain?  Probably longer by now. 

The trouble with summer rains here is that it usually comes with thunder and ligthening storms.  Not the kind of rain we need.

OMG, this is hazardous conditions! I've been monitoring the air in Sacramento and in Kailua-Kona, but even the worst volcanic ash droppings over Kona have not been more than "unhealthy for everybody", and you're two levels above THAT!

Hope you're staying indoors, with an air purifier and AC.

According to the national news, Washington State has the worst air quality in the country right now.  Not exactly something we want to be known for, is it?
