Cholesterol.
They call it, “The Silent Killer”.
I never paid attention to mine. Why should I?
I workout 5 days a week, I don’t do drugs, I don’t drink and I don’t eat fast food.
My 2 biggest vices? Potato chips during football on Sunday’s and I ate red meat like I breathe oxygen (steak 2-3 times a day (what can I say, it’s easy to cook!!!!)).
Most important, I felt TOTALLY – FINE.
One of my college wrestling teammates had a heart attack in July of 2017. Thank God, he survived. After that, he was all over me to get my cholesterol checked.
After a ton of calls and a ton of pushing, I finally did, and OH – MY – GOD!
The Silent Killer had my name on the board and my number would have been called soon.
Last October, I had my cholesterol checked for the first time. I was a walking heart attack waiting to happen.
My cholesterol was 273 and my LDL (bad cholesterol) was 203. Those numbers are completely off the charts.
On that day, I made a new commitment to myself, my diet and my lifestyle. The Silent Killer was not going to get me.
It’s been a 1-year battle to avoid temptation, urges and cravings, but I came to learn that the commitment which cholesterol made me stick to, changed me as a person and has affected every aspect of my life.
I just got checked and my new numbers are 132 on the cholesterol and 72 on the LDL (all with no meds by the way).
Every single person needs to get their cholesterol checked.
Had I not gotten mine checked, I would have for sure had a heart attack within the next few years.
Anything I can share with anyone to help, ask away, shoot me a PM or give me a call.
All the best!!
