I am sure that you know someone from a blended family. I think back to Donald entering my life 20 years ago. Abigail was just a ten year old little girl. Donald's first nickname for her was Booger and she thought it was funny. When she was a tiny girl and learning to talk she had called herself A-boo-gail and that's where it came from.
4 years after he came into my life he became Abigail's step-daddy. She calls him DonDon. But beyond that she introduces the two of us as "my parents" as opposed to my mom and her husband.
I am thankful that my Donald gave her every reason to feel that way. He couldn't love her any more than he already does. Family isn't always blood. Sometimes it's what you choose. He picked us to be his family. She picked his arm to walk down the isle when she got married. He's a proud of his daughter Daddy.
And he's the most wonderful Papa to little Cooper. It makes my heart so happy to see the two of them together. Today when we got Cooper up from a nap that he'd started before we arrived to babysit he reached for Donald and was so happy to see him. This video was from a few days ago, but I posted another one from today on my Facebook page. I love that I am getting to capture them for Cooper to have later in life.
