SUMMER TIME HINT...GOOD ENOUGH TO SHARE

It's that  time of the year again for cookouts, camping, hiking, sunbathing, swimming, summer socials, flip-flops and TICKS.  Ahh...the long lazy days of summer. Nothing like it!

As we spend more and more time outside this season, inevitably you or someone you know is going to get a tick on them.  I know it is difficult to get to it with tweezers if it is inbetween your toes, or in the middle of a head full of dark hair etc.  So the best way to remove one is to apply a glob of liquid soap to a cotton ball.  Cover the tick with the soap-soaked cotton ball and let it stay on the repulsive insect for a few seconds (15-20).  After which the tick will come out on it's own and be stuck to the cotton ball when you lift it away.  This technique is much less traumatic for the person and unless someone is allergic to soap, I can't see where it would hurt to try this technique first.

HAPPY SUMMER!

Katrina~  OH!  I hate those ticks.  I can't stand to see one let alone have to remove one!  Next time, If I see one, I may try your remedy!  Thanks for the suggestion to easily removing those horrid little things.

Thanks for the great tip. I got one a few years back...the other old remidies like hold a lighter up to it and they will back out didn't work, so I took a knife and dug it out. The scar is just about gone.

Thanks for the 'tick tip'! How do you know if you have a tick? Do they itch? I have had mosquito bites, but not sure if I ever had a tick or not.
