It's that time of the year again for cookouts, camping, hiking, sunbathing, swimming, summer socials, flip-flops and TICKS. Ahh...the long lazy days of summer. Nothing like it!
As we spend more and more time outside this season, inevitably you or someone you know is going to get a tick on them. I know it is difficult to get to it with tweezers if it is inbetween your toes, or in the middle of a head full of dark hair etc. So the best way to remove one is to apply a glob of liquid soap to a cotton ball. Cover the tick with the soap-soaked cotton ball and let it stay on the repulsive insect for a few seconds (15-20). After which the tick will come out on it's own and be stuck to the cotton ball when you lift it away. This technique is much less traumatic for the person and unless someone is allergic to soap, I can't see where it would hurt to try this technique first.
HAPPY SUMMER!
