El Dorado County Planning and What's up for change...
A workshop on proposed changes to the County’s Zoning ordinance took up most of the El Dorado County Planning Commission’s Jan. 24 meeting.
These changes are to the existing ordinances of 2015.
Quite a few significant changes, as a matter of fact-and not limited to the short rendition, below:
Land Use-Changes would allow: Distilleries to operate in commercial zones rather than just industrial or research and development zoning.
Professional & Medial offices to operate in all-commercial zones
Full-Service wineries to operate in all general commercial areas
Vehicle sales and rental outlets to operate in industrial zones and in transportation corridor zones.
Self-storage and mini storage units to operate in industrial zones, as well as, research and dev. Zones
Expanded zones for drive-through food and beverage outlets
If you have an interest in any one of these areas: Feel free to email me and name it in the subject field-“County Plan”, and I will continue to update you-and keep you, “In the KNOW!”
Just for the record, New requirements for public notification may also include expanded public outreach review and comment by the public, earlier in the planning process & mailing notices to all members of the public within 1000 Ft Radius of a proposed project, although Commissioner Williams said he preferred using the existing 1 mile radius when mailing public notices. Imagine that! More to come-So stay Tuned!
(This is a picture of me addressing the Board most recently on just one of the many issues I am working on, in El Dorado County.)
