Living in Laveen | South Mountain Environmental Education Center
Welcome to another edition of living in living. Today I wanted to inform you about a new trial that is being blazed in the South Mountain preserve. It is located way on the west end of the preserve in Laveen Arizona, almost by 51st Ave.
Today I filmed from about 47th Ave and Estrella, facing south toward the mountain. You may notice halfway up the mountain there is a new trail……which was not there before. The new trail starts on the South end of the Mountain in the Dusty Lane Community, and will extend for about 8 miles ( I was told by one of the workers on the trail), all the way to 19th ave.
The trail is about 3 feet wide and winds up, down and all around as it makes it way around the mountain. The views are spectacular, and the trail is shaping up to be simply fantastic.
