Knowing your client and what that client is looking for is a prime part of good customer service.... a certain degree of that has been lost with the use of the Internet....
Here's a great reason to call up or call on customers this Thursday, July 18, 2018-it's the Quarterly "Get to Know Your Customers Day".
Get to Know Your Customers Day is observed annually on the third Thursday of each quarter (January, April, July, October). This is a day to reach out to your patrons and get to know them better.
When businesspeople get to know their customers, they also get to know more about what they need to do to grow.
Just as when "Main Street" businesses were locally owned and operated, the owners knew customers by name and knew their shopping habits. They typically knew what a customer wanted to buy, and if they didn’t have it, the proprietors were willing to search, find and ship it in for the customer.
With the advent of the Internet, online shopping and big-box stores, much of the personal attention has gone by the wayside.
Get to Know Your Customers Day is a day to turn that around. Make it a point to get to know a little more about your customers and make each of them feel like they are your most important customer of the day.
