Millbrae, CA Approved and Forthcoming Transit-Oriented Development Housing Project
In late 2018, The Millbrae City Council approved two transit-oriented residential and retail development; what does that mean for the city of Millbrae? These housing projects will bring the city of Millbrae New jobs, new homes, and retail stores to the area near Millbrae BART/Caltrain station.
The construction will be complete on BART property adjoining to Millbrae Station in the City of Millbrae.
The goal is to use the land owned around BART stations to build more than 3,000 housing new units, 170,000 square feet of office, 120 hotel units, 70,000 square feet of retail facilities, and parking.
The development involves the elevated portion of Millbrae Avenue with immediate access to its residential podium and builds a new downtown promenade with a retail lane between Rollins Road and the entrance to the BART station.
Approximately 20 years ago, the City of Millbrae created a plan for transit-oriented development at the Millbrae BART station. However, it has taken until now for the developments to be approved and soon to develop.
