I was scrolling through Facebook, today (I know, quelle suprise, right?), and I can across this hysterical post of 16 surprising ways to injure yourself when you're over 40. It included a couple of items that actually caused me to literally, laugh-out-loud. C'mon.... "carrying all your remotes to the couch".... "rolling your eyes at your teens"... "trying to pull up a wet bathing suit".
Seriously made me laugh.
But they left out a couple of semi-serious ones that I've actually had occur to me.
You don't get this far along in life without a couple of aches and pains... and I have more than my share. I've suffered some back injuries, including a nice little surgitation a while back.
I used to load up on Advil, Vicodin, a little Valium and some muscle relaxers... really dramatically limits your alcohol intake, I'll tell you that. Most of those were prior to my surgitation.
I found that a simple sneeze, or a good cough.... could send me into fits of muscle pain, spasms and inability to function. Getting in and out of a car, without major pain, became difficult. Not really a problem for a real estate agent, right?
Turning around while trying to back out of a parking space could be an impossibility... thank heavens for back-up-cameras. Oy!
