I am going to a seminar hosted by Chicago Title titled "Become a REO Listing Agent". Has anyone had any experience with this LionsGate company?

Hi Kyle,

I was at the seminar this morning. I was sceptical in the beginning, but trying to keep an open mind. I stayed through the whole presentation. They made some valid points. However, I still think you need the "connection" to open doors to your 1st REO listing. A few good men may have gotten there with a lot of hard work and money spent joining a lot of REO associations and doing lots of BPOs. Would love to hear your feedback after you attend.

They really didn't talk too much about what they can do for us except to provide us with training.  I didn't really feel that they offered me anything that made me want to fork over $500+.  Having that guy Larry talk for 30 minutes and finishing with "You don't really need this service" didn't help their cause.

I am excited.  I just signe dup to attend the Five Star Conference in Dallas in Sep.

I know you have been selling your contact list for a while.  Have you received any REO assignments to date.

I started receiving a steady stream of BPOs, so I am positive about getting my first REO listing soon. I cannot spend the time or money to go to these conferences at this time.

They really didn't speak too much about exactly what they were offering.  The only incentive they offered that perked my interest was a referral into REOMac as one of the presenters is a part of REOMac.  That could be quite valuable.

Looking at the background of the founder, who but the same people who made this mess can tell you how ... nah, this is a joke. Same for Ameriquest founders... all the failed lenders and mortgage frauds seem to be on the current bandwagon to get into your pockets via "training" or auctions. They sell the bad loans and now are trying to reap benefits. Should be in jail if you ask me. Who has been held accountable except the people who abide by the rules and live with i their means. Doing BPO's is a folly for most. I did that for a week and finally had to tell them if all they want is bogus info go to Hades. Oh I could go on. Stay away from hucksters and the newly minted agent. Work with ethical people who can be trusted. So few and far between.

So did they charge you $500 to attend the seminar or did they try and sell you on something else once you got there?  I was going to check it out after getting an email about free seminars in our area for this week.  Seemed like some good training that couldn't hurt me to learn, but I don't have $500 to buy more of it right now!  LOL

Sincerely,

Kathleen

I went to their intro seminar again a few weeks ago and it was MUCH improved.  When I went for the first time a year ago, they were just getting started.  They now really have their act together.  They actually were invited to host the "How To Become a Successful REO Agent" certification course for REOMAC.

I took their full on REO/BPO class this past Friday and I got a lot out of it.  Two of their teachers are very successful REO agents that are passing on all of the knowledge they have learned through their years of experience.  One of the guys has closed over 1.000 REO transactions.  The other instructor is a former asset manager.

I highly recommend Lions Gate for those just starting out as well as those that already have a few listings and want to grow.  I got some great tips for my resume and how to find new asset management companies out of it.

I received their email this morning about the seminar they would be offering in Dallas next week. Then I googled it, and found your blog.

Based on what I am reading, I think I will pass. It does not fit my business model (BPO and REO listings).

My recommendation would be for you to goto their intro meeting and feel it out.  I think you will be presently suprised.  They give out some awesome info at the free intro seminar!

Hello Kyle,

Enjoyed reading other brokers comments. Thanks for that!

We attended the seminar in Denver. Deborah Leone did a very professional job. Gave us a lot of useful information. We have sold REO for a number of years, but the market and players are in a rapid state of change. We are seriousely considering joining. It will give us better posture and credibility.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Have a nice day!

The only ones benefitting on the grand scale is Lionsgate - preying on the pockets of realtors. Overpromise and under deliver. There is no follow up for "membershp" I'd recommend passing for 500+

LionsGate has a customer service team that prides themself on following up on every member inquiry that comes in.  Granted the early 2010 transition from live trainings to nearly daily web trainings was a bit rocky for a short period, but the bugs have been addressed and the updated information is unprecedented in this industry.  Now LionsGate can reach a far broader agent base at a fraction of the cost for live trainings.  I know,  I am an unpaid LionsGate team member and privy to every LG benefit.  I am also intimately aware of LionsGate's humanitarian efforts to help homeowners through membership assistance in Northern CA as well as other parts of the nation.
