After several perfect sunny Spring days, the marine layer is here. Instead of the usual sunny days with highs in the mid to upper 70's, the marine layer is cooling us to the mid 60's. Perhaps, inspired by Michael Jacobs spontaneity post today, and also an intense craving for an almond croissant, we drove to our wine country for one of the Baker's Table famous treats.
From there we drove to a little park in Los Olivos, where we sat at a picnic table and savored our shared croissant and coffee...we then walked around the tiny village to work off those carbs (ha,ha!). Pictured above is the farmhouse of the ranch land that became Los Olivos. Built in 1885, it was modernized and It now serves as an office building.
From there we drove to a new market in Santa Ynez called New Frontiers. There were no lines, and no empty shelves. We picked up a few items for dinner this evening...And we filled up the car at Jim's. We have not seen these prices since we moved from Los Angeles in 2001.
Wishing you all an abundance of Saturday Smiles...Cheers, Ron & Alexandra!
