Passport Services Resume in Gaithersburg, Maryland

 

Passport services have resumed at City Hall. Appointments are being taken Monday through Friday from 1 to 5 p.m.

To apply for a passport you will need:

A completed passport application.

For updated forms and requirements check travel.state.gov 

 

Proof of United States citizenship in the form of:

A certified birth certificate

A naturalization certificate

 

One photograph:

color

2x2 inches in size

clear, front view, full face without hat or eyeglasses

 

Proof of identity containing your signature and physical description or photograph in the form of:

a previous U.S. passport

a Certificate of Naturalization or Citizenship

a driver’s license

or a government identification card or pass.

 

Fees: Only personal checks or money orders will be accepted with passport applications.

 

Regular Service

$145 for adults, ages 16 and older ($110 passport fee and an additional $35 application fee)

$115 for children, age 15 and younger ($80 passport fee and an additional $35 application fee)

 

Expedited Fee

$60 plus regular service fee. Additional $17.13 for overnight delivery (optional)

 

Please make checks payable to:

U.S. Department of State (passport processing fee)

 

$110 - adult passport

$80 - child passport (under 16 years old)

and City of Gaithersburg (application fee)

 

$35 - adult or child passport

Fees for multiple passport applications submitted at the same time may be combined appropriately.

 

Expedited service fee should be added to U.S. Department of State processing fee when applicable.

I need to get my passport renewed.  However, I don't plan on going anywhere outside the country this year (during pandemic), so will put it off for awhile.

Roy Kelley it's a good idea to let people know that they can bring a photo as opposed to having the post office (or whom ever) take the photo. I learned this the hard way... my passpost looks like I just ate a raw animal as my beard (that I had at the time) looks to be drenched with blood.

I am very happy to hear that. We sent our passports in May to be renewed.  They cashed the checks instantly, and we are still waiting.  Happily, we can wait as we have no travel plans until November. A
