Operation S.A.F.E. This year the Lake in the Hills Police Department is starting a new safety awareness program titled Operation S.A.F.E. (Safety Awareness through Fireworks Education).  Each year beginning in the month of June, and through mid July, the Police Department receives numerous complaints from residents about the illegal discharge of fireworks.  Operation Safe is intended to inform the public of the hazards of fireworks, as well as stating the Police Department's zero tolerance policy on the possession and discharge of fireworks within the Village. For more information contact the Police Department at 847-658-5676.
