Kaha Garden is a native xeriscape garden located in urban Kailua and maintained solely by community volunteers. Volunteers at Kaha Garden are taught to identify native plants, learn growing patterns, how to properly propagate, and where to plant different species to maximize their ecological benefits. Community workdays are held quarterly at this site.
This event is ideal for volunteers of all ages or with limited time to donate, volunteers can come & go as their schedule allows. Volunteers are asked to wear shoes and work clothes that they don't mind getting dirty, bring a reusable water bottle, and reef friendly sunscreen. All tools will be provided. Participants under age 16 must have adult supervision. Participants under the age of 18, attending without their parent or legal guardian must bring the signed waiver.
Private weekday service learning/workdays at any HOK project site can be arranged for groups of ten or more. Contact us to schedule an event.
