Claxton Harvey Western Ranchettes - Gilbert Horse Property

In Arizona, there are thousands of subdivisions. There are several horse property neighborhoods and it has taken me years to learn many of them. I still will get a phone call about some random subdivision.

Claxton Harvey Western Ranchettes is a subdivision just south of the 202 San Tan Freeway and west off of Greenfield road. This subdivision has approximately 212 homes located in the 1/2 square mile of Claxton Harvey Western Ranchettes. The streets are Willis, Maplewood, Melrose, and Claxton.

With the exception of two or three lots, the homes are all located on a little over an acre. Each road is dead-end. The homes to the north end at an empty field that is currently zoned for medical offices.

This neighborhood has flood irrigation through Roosevelt Water Conservation District. If you are not familiar with flood irrigation in Arizona, you can read more about how these properties can have large pastures filled with green grass because they are serviced with flood irrigation. You will find our irrigation FAQ to help you understand what flood irrigation is and how it works.

I personally love this neighborhood. Many of the homes have large shops in the back of their properties. Some of them have horse setup and you will often see horses being ridden up and down the streets. There are also a lot of hot air balloons in this area and November through March is a great time to see these beautiful balloons floating through the air.

The homes in this area are certainly not inexpensive. They can run from $630,000 up into the million dollars plus range.

This subdivision is close to everything. There is a Starbucks, Costco, Sams Club, Wal-Mart, Apple Store, Chicos, At Home, Trader Joe's, Sprouts, and a multitude of other stores within five minutes. The San Tan Freeway is super close and you can jump on it and get where you need to go fast.

Mesa Gateway Airport is also just minutes away and if you like to hike, bike or horseback ride you are 15 minutes north of the San Tan Mountain or jump on the 202 Freeway and head to the Superstition Mountains, Usery Pass or Ahwatukee also has some great hiking trails.
