Does Your Real Estate Agent Offer Personal Performance Guarantees?

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Realty 179530

HAS YOUR REAL ESTATE AGENT OFFERED PERSONAL PERFORMANCE GUARANTEES?

Each time I enter into a client relationship, I make it clear at the outset to prospective clients that I work with a limited number of buyers and sellers at any given time and that I treat each client relationship as if it was my ONLY  relationship and my most important relationship. My value-added is the very hands-on, personal approach I take with each and every client and the fact that I am willing to put "my money where my mouth is" with respect to the performance guarantees I offer my clients. As a result, there's never any question in my clients' minds that I'm always on top of everything that is going on vis-à-vis  their home sale or purchase and that I let nothing drop between the cracks.

Every client receives my Easy Exit Listing Agreement or Easy Exit Buyer Agency Agreement. These agreements make signing a listing agreement or a buyer agency agreement with me totally risk free to the seller or buyer, as they clearly state that if I don't do what I promised to do, they can fire me with no questions asked and with no further financial obligation. I've been offering these agreements for over 30 years and I've yet to have a client fire me (although there have been a few clients I've fired along the way because they didn't live up to their end of the bargain!).

My written Personal Performance Guarantees outline how our relationship will be handled on a day by day basis and throughout the home buying and selling process.

Kathy Streib good morning, Kathy... the censor gods for some reason removed your comment and photo from my post! Hopefully we are not going the way of Twitter! :)

Kat Palmiotti good morning, Kat... I'm not one to force people to work with me, but at the end of the day, I still have to protect my position. Happy Sunday!

Wayne Martin good morning, Wayne, and thank you. I'm a huge believer in transparency when it comes to dealing with my clients. It makes for good and loyal clients as far as I'm concerned.

Nina Hollander, Broker, I loved this post, and I'm glad it's on Kathy's list to be found.

I used to use this similar agreement when I was in real estate, and I believe in it and have used it in my other businesses since 2009. I often wondered when I first had my license, and it seemed to me at the time that there were so many "restrictions" on what we were not supposed to do. I asked the broker how to "fire clients," and everyone freaked out! My story ended with a new Broker! Good for you, Nina! 😄

So where's the gold star on this post, Nina? Glad to see Kathy featured. What a great way to stand out, but also to provide service that should be expected. No doubt buyers and sellers appreciate this transparency.

Jeff Dowler, CRS hi Jeff... I've always believed that transparency makes for a better client relationship. Educating one's clients also improves a relationship. So many agents are afraid to do either.

Dorie Dillard Austin TX hi Dorie... I always ask myself if something I'm doing or planning to do will make me stand apart from the crowd... if the answer is yes, I jump in with both feet.

Aura Alex thanks, Aura... two of the hardest lessons to learn as a new agent when in a commission business:

1. How to turn down business/clients that you know is not right for you.

2. How fire the clients who turn out not to be right for you.

Hannah Williams thanks, Hannah. People take it seriously when you give them something in writing and they understand when you are ready to put your money where your mouth is.

You're absolutely right on both counts, Nina.

It was either "eat the frog" or starve waiting for the Prince! It's never easy having to put my "pride" in the back seat!!!

Aura Alex hi Aura... well, what I learned was that sticking with the wrong clients often did not result in any sale and wasted time that I could have used to generate "better" business. And when it did result in a sale the relationship did not result in repeat or referral business... and 85+% of my business has been built on repeat and referral business for decades.

That is amazing, Nina Hollander, Broker; you have to be exemplary to earn and maintain trust and client satisfaction for all the referral and repeat businesses! It doesn't get much better than that, Miss Nina! 😃
