Good Morning Brian, Good read from the first sentence that nearly half of mortgaged properties were considered equity-rich in the second quarter and better than the first quarter!

I'm guessing not in my area since sale prices have decreased in the last few months. With a lower denominator, I can't see how it would mathematically work.

Good morning, Brian... I see no reason why equity won't continue to increase, albeit at a slower pace than in the past two years.

Our prices here in Arizona shot up too fast and too much.  They are going back to where they should be.  In the end equity will be just fine.  We only have so much dirt to build on.

Hi Brian - that is a similar question for an investment advisor.  The answer is don't look at unpredictable short terms.  It will rise in the long term.

Lending rules have created a totally different situation to 2005 onwards where anyone could borrow with very little or nothing down. Nowadays banks prefer the borrower to have a good deposit, although not always required. The rising home prices have helped those with little down to increase their equity stakes.

Good morning Brian,

Equity has risen dramatically at a record level pace these past two years. We didn't expect it to continue to go on forever but no question equity will continue at a lower rate. Looking back through history shows you that is true.

The market has definitely flattened a bit Kat Palmiotti but I think it will begin to boom again soon and equity will continue to rise!

I agree with that Bill Salvatore - East Valley and for those that would say that the market is softening, I would say it's just the dust settling a bit, all is well.

Long-term is certainly the best mindset to have Grant Schneider and real estate has always withstood the test of time!

That there is the biggest reason why I doubt the market could bust Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 but the sheople have a way of making things happen that shouldn't necessarily happen, haha.

Good morning, Dorie Dillard Austin TX I completely agree with that and things always have to slow down a bit when they have been on too fast of a pace.

Long-term is definitely the way to go Lise Howe and I think that the ones that look at it short-term are the ones that overreact to things.

Brian in my opinion home equity may not rise as much as it has in the last two years, BUT it will continue to rise and be one of the best investments anyone can make especially in the inflation we are in.
