On January 26, 2023, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Census Bureau reported nationwide new single family home sales gained 2.3% to an annual rate of 616,000 homes in December of 2022 from 620,000 homes in November of 2022, but fell 26.6% from in December of 2021 an annual rate of 839,000 homes.
The median new home sold value was $442,100, while the average sales price was $528,400 in December of 2022.
There were estimated 461,000 new houses for sale, and 9.0 months supplies of available inventory at the end of December of 2022.
