Club Chaos Eye Candy: Welcome to a Jamaica Tour of Homes (Vol 3)

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Tann Starr & Associates, Inc.

This series of residential tours is inspired by my girlfriends Elizabeth Weintraub (of Sacramento) and Poppy Dinsey (of London, UK). The Weintraub Gallery features her favorite Land Park Homes in Sacramento (About.com), while Poppy D (Zoomf) takes us on an eclectic tour of her neck of the woods in "A Walk Around London England." Her London blog was recently featured at Localism.com. She also poses a very interesting question in her latest blog: "Is it time to get rid of the stigma of being a renter? No matter where we are in the world?" You can read, "UK  Rental Attitudes Are Changing, How Is It Stateside?" here. For some extra eye candy, and a delightful peek at history, go check out Elizabeth's article on Ronald Reagan's Former Home in East Sacramento here.

Here is some eye candy from my turtle run in Jamaica, Queens County, NY. Enjoy!

Queens County is a great place to live. I love NYC!

I like all the mature landscaping around these beautiful homes.  This doesn't look like the concrete jungle that we usually think of as NYC.

Hey Pam, the concrete jungle does have an oasis or two (maybe 135,264 of 'em, but who's counting?). :-D

I get a TON of referrals in Queens county.  That must be an in-demand place.

Hey Clint, Brooklyn and Queens are receiving a lot of spill over from Manhattan. People are waking up to the fact that for what they pay in monthly rental for a for a swanky apartment with a view, they can own a multi-family home in in the outer boroughs with a yard, off-street parking and plenty of neat activities to do. The City of New York has an excellent public transportation system. Where else in the world can you travel from one end of a city to the other for $2.00 per fare?

What I really like are all the trees. It's similar to Sacramento, but we really NEED our trees for shade. :) The homes are beautiful, too.

Carolyn, They have amazing homes in Queens...some absolutely spectacular.  I am booked this month in Forest Hills (ironically where my cousins grew up) and possibly Whitestone (which I am not that familiar with.  It will be nice to go there again.

Hey Elizabeth, I know what you mean. I gravitate towards good landscaping, which is why I tend to favor older neighborhoods. They have such a restful, green character.

Carole, maybe one day, if our schedules permit, we can do lunch while you're working in my neck of the woods. I would love to treat you to one of my favorite neighborhood places to eat. It has a very unique atmosphere. (My friend owns a design company and did all of the interior construction. I believe I shall have to do a blog on it one day soon.)

My dearest Don, I've been turtle running past these homes for over 13 years. New York City will surprise you and I am so looking forward to showing off my favorite homes throughout all five boroughs. Wait until you see the Brooklyn Brownstones from the late 1800s! Fabulous! I know where they are. I was born and raised in Brooklyn. NYC is my playground!

C, that first one looks like something from a movie reel - just perfect!  Wonderful photos and what a great way to show another side of your city to those of us who don't know it.
