Inflate Your Space With Home Staging and Redesign!!

Home Stager with CL Design Services Home Staging

In every home there is at least one room that the homeowner desires larger.  In my staging business, I believe the key to increasing the perceived size of any small area is to maximize the function of the space while minimizing the clutter.

Clutter  is a reflection of chaos in ones life. If you are preparing your home for sale, it eats equity!

Clutter can make any size of space seem smaller.  By discarding the items that you don't need and organizing the rest, you will create an efficient feeling throughout the room.  If you must keep some if the items that were generating the clutter, then try as best you can to keep them to a minimum.

A simple décor seems to work best for small spaces.  Light, airy fabrics absent of print or pattern will enlarge the area.  When selecting furniture, try to utilize larger pieces that are tall and contain hidden storage spots.

The final way to add appeal to every room is add as much natural light as possible.  Adding three sources of light in dark rooms is ideal when possible.

Cathy, I am such a big fan of light. Light and more light makes everything come alive.

I am with you Gary...Let there be Light!! It drives me crazy to go into a listed home it is dark-not one light is on.   Some homeowners do not want to pay for the utility bill, but they pay more in the end when the home does not sell.

HI Cathy, Your photo really emphasises the need for light in a room. It makes a dramatic difference in this example. Good work!

Beautiful work.  I agree with your points, I tend to remove heavy draperies, etc. to let in as much light as possible.

I love the way you used the two chairs to flank the fireplace

Hi Connie!  It was my Dad's favorite song.  He was an artist and painted an incredible oil portrait of Louis Armstrong.  My nephew has it in his home in T.O.  It is an abstract in oranges and is so incredible!! :)

I like how you put the table lamp offset to the mirror adding more reflective light to the space. It looks great!

Cathy,

I agree large prints do not work well in a small area, bringing in color or pattern on smaller items such as pillows & accessories works best! Of course light is a must in any dark space and will allow for a room to appear larger when used properly. Great staging as always!
