The Real Estate Market after the Election

What do you think the real estate market will do after the election in November?  If Obama wins?  If McCain wins?  I can turn on the television and hear from the talking heads exactly what the outcome will be and how it will affect us.  I can hear that in two versions, the democratic and republican version.  But, really, what I find most interesting is opinions from working stiffs like you and me...  We live in a real world.  To me, if anyone one asked?, it looks like Obama is going to be our next president.  He certainly has the oratory, and the presence, and he's likeable here and around the world...  Anyone else have an opinion you dare to share?

For years, the talking heads were telling us this real estate market couldn't last... and finally, they were right.  I think we'll see some optimism after the election, which could stabilize things... but my crystal ball is a little foggy tonight... Must be the late hour.... ;-)

I hope that Obama wins the election... and if he does... I see a major shift in things like the Consumer Confidence index... much in a positive direction.  If that happens, I think the market will improve greatly.  Right now too many of the "real world" folks feel the deck is very much stacked against them... and unfortunately, I happen to agree.

I hope that Obama wins as well, I agree with Karen.  Too many of the current administration's policies have created the problems we see today.  Having said that it really started with the Clintons and Bush made an art form of being pro corporate.

Frankly, had it not been for Wall Street's voracious appetite for investments and the incredible exension of credit to folks that could not afford it we would not be in this mess.

We'll see what happens!

I saw a bumper sticker the other day that said "Our problems cannot be solved by the minds that created them"...

Typically the markets (stock) are stronger in a run-up year, but with Obama looming... there is much hesitation/fluctuation in the DJIA.  The markets (stock) should begin to rebound after the inauguration.  As for the Obama posts above... I must disagree.  Obama is a tax and spend liberal, who is untested in his two short years in the senate.  He's been absent much of those two years in working up a run for the presidency.  Due to his huge projected budget and proposed programs, corporations and employers will be hit hardest... trickling down to effect the middle class (majority of home buyers).  The benefit will be seen by the lowest income Americans (typically not home buyers). The economy will take a sizable hit if Barack wins... I can only hope it not a big one.  Depending on the repercussions of an Obama win, we could be in for a poor year in 2009.

I think the American public will realize that the young Senator from Chicago isn't ready for the big chair and make the right choice in November.  America needs change... not radical change!
