Work like a spider!

By
Real Estate Agent with Kendall Haney Realty Group

Ok I posted this the other (it ws wonderful) and it was good but since it disappered after I typed it on my computer I thought I try again!

Every night after dinner and a long day working I go outside and sit on my front porch.  There is a spider that is at the front edge of my porch and I sit and was Brock (yes, I named the Spider) build his nightly web as I drink a nice tall ice tea (which is my favorite beverage).

One of the things I've noticed is how Brock builds his web.  I realized the other night that so much of it works in Real Estate also.  First thing Brock does is establish an anchor line.  This is where the web starts from.  It goes from the top of my porch to the window boxes on the ledge of the porch where my impatiens and petunias bloom their little hearts out (I do probably spend too much time on the porch).

As Brock builds his web he starts all of his connections off of the anchor line.  It's much like with real estate.  I realized that I have an anchor line and that I need to work like Brock does, every night, to build my connections.  These connections all work back to the anchor line.  My anchor line is my Sphere of Influence and activities that I am involved in.

As I build connections through my anchor line I start to get secondary anchors that create more connections and I can build and build.

I have started using a spider web as a symbol in my office to help me with my connections.  So far it is working well for me.  Let's see how it goes!

Good simple analogy. Always helps to get back to the basics.

Dana, this is a great analogy! You're one of the only people I've met that name spiders...I do too. We have a 25 foot ceiling and they make themselves at home once in a while. I will say good morning and good night Gladys...

Truly good analogy. Thanks,

We had "Charlotte" on our front porch.  (Not very original, I know...)  It was interesting to watch her start over every evening.

Great analogy.  We had a spider some time ago who would do the same as your Brock.  It was amazing to watch.  I went out to get something and saw him start building - my wife came out about an hour later to get me.

Nice analogy - like it!  Plus, it is important to take time to notice the smaller things that sometimes escape us.
