I have been using OpenTable for quite some time to make dining reservations. The problem has always been what do I do if I need to make a reservation while I am out of the office. I suppose I could always go the old-fashioned route and call the restaurant, but that seems very low-tech and I would not be earning any valuable points in the process (I love collecting points in all kinds of programs; there will be more about that later in future posts.)
OpenTable has solved the problem with the release of OpenTable Mobile (Beta). You can now point your mobile web browser to mobile.opentable.com and book your reservation instantly.
For each reservation that you make, you can collect points which you can redeem towards dining certificates.
Once you have honored 12 or more OpenTable reservations within a calendar year, you are upgraded to "VIP Status" and all of the restaurants will know of your star status.
