Rain Drops Keep Falling IN My Head

By
Real Estate Agent with Timothy Toye & Assoicates

How do you stay focused with all of this information? Yes, I'm a newbie. Is that how I'm to spell it? I have been visiting Active Rain for a few weeks now. Everytime, I mean everytime, I visit, I am more lost than I started. Well, maybe it's not actually lost. It's really quite flooded.

Can someone please point me in the direction of the pot-o-gold. I have found quite a few gold mines, Brad Andersohn is one of my favorites so far, but I think I could use a shorter supply for now. Snapshots of what to do next in a sequential way. Actually, nice addition to the site might be morning showers.

I've followed the rainbow of information as best I could and have finally decided to dive in. What will happen if I'm doing something wrong? Shall I expect a letter of explanation? Or does that happen through other people posting to my blog? Will anyone see this blog? It's very difficult to dive into a fishbowl where everyone could watch and laugh. Isn't that silly? For diving in, I certainly do feel like a fish out of water!

Thank you for your experience in this very new to me, blogging reality called Active/Rain!

Okay, what do I do with the "tag" section below? I'll try "newbie"

Was it okay for me to reference "Active Brad"? Should I add that to the tag?

Hi Anne, Welcome to Active Rain.  Yes, it is ok for you to reference "Active Brad".  :)  You could have added his name to the tag.

Read the posts and watch the videos listed and linked on the left sidebar of the AR Newbies Group Homepage.  They'll help you learn your way around the community --  you'll find many of the posts are written by Brad Andersohn and the videos were created by Jeff Turner.  Also, don't be shy about commenting on members posts -- we're looking forward to getting to know you.  Have fun!!!  :)

Anne, I understand you completely. That's how I was when I started two months ago. The experienced Active Rain folks told me to use the search field and then I couldn't find what I was looking for. I became frustrated and I thought, ASK. I asked and got the answers I needed. And soon I became confident....you will too.

Welcome to Active Rain. And if you need some help you can ask me, so I can ask someone else...lol

Aloha Anne, Welcome to Active Rain. You have already received some good suggestions. With regards to tags, that is a good way to label your posts for when people find your blog in the future. Your tags are displayed on the right side of the blog and can help readers find material that may be of interest. For example, say you do a post on the schools in your area. If you add a tag that says Lakeport Schools, someone may stumble upon your blog interested in relocating to Lakeport. They will see the tag, click on the link and voila, there is your lakepoint schools blog post.

Hi Anne,

I find AR very much like the parody, "How do you eat an elephant?  One bite at a time!"  That is what I think of when I come to AR.  It is over whelming if you think of the BIG picture.  If you look at small samples at a time, "X" number of blogs each time you visit and add your own post, you will eventually eat a lot of that elephant.  Good Luck.
