Home Staging Tips

Home Stager with Cameo Home Staging

With the market being flooded with homes for sale, isn't it time that the importance of home staging is taken seriously?  Although staging a home does not necessary guarantee the home will be sold, but it certainly creates an ideal situation for the showing of the home to potential buyers.  First impressions are lasting impressions, and by not making sure that the property is presented in such a manner to give a great first impression, that opportunity is lost forever.

Many television shows are now showcasing home staging in some form or another, and although it is not accurate to assume that the transformations can take place in an hour, the investment in home staging both financially and in time is well worth the effort.

I would encourage realtors and home owners alike to employ the services of a home stager prior to listing the property and getting great photographs of the staged property on the MLS listing.  Many stagers offer a free slideshow that can be included with the listing.

I have frequently been asked about staging tips and would encourage any one with questions to contact me via my website www.cameo-homestaging.com

Happy staging and selling and keep those comments and questions coming.

Dianne,

Good post and nice picture on your profile. The TV shows sure do make staging seem easy and glamorous.

Home staging in an hour is akin to the show that builds a house in a week....possible...maybe...likely...oh not...

Dianne,

Great stuff!!  My experience, while not the pro you aer, is the limited staging in empy homes has prompted the question "Does the __________ (fill in the blank) go with the house?"  It always amazes me when this question is asked.  My props are small and not too expensive yet folks wnat 'em.

You made a point that needs repeating:  employ the services of a home stager prior to listing.  Too many times than I care to admit, I have been called in after the paperwork has gone through and the list price established.  There is still a lot of educating to do.  Thanks for the post.
