On July 26th, 2008 Congress passed H.R. 3221, the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008, and signed by President Bush on July 30, 2008. This Act allows a first time home buyer of a single- family home, townhome, or condominum apartment to take a $7,500.00 Tax Credit. To qualify the buyer must close on their purchase between April 9, 2008 and July 30,2009.
