Hey Chris, welcome to Active Rain. It's a great source of information and entertainment. I have not been here that long, but I will pass down the advice given to me.
1. When someone comments on your blog, it is polite to comment back and thank them for commenting.
2. I have also found that making a comment on their blog also makes you quick friends and gets you more points.
3. Try to include pictures on your blogs.
4. Check out the groups that other people that comment belong to. It's a quick and easy way to find new groups.
