If you live in the city of Columbus you know that you live in a color coded area for your garbage pick up. Columbus has five trash areas.... because there are five week days.
I live in the NAVY area, there is also a GOLD area, a RUBY area.... a PINK area and a.... I always forget the last one... It has to be a four letter word... because the color names need to be phone numberable. GRAY
Dial 645-NAVY to hear regular trash collection day
The recording tells you when your trash day is and when the next holiday is which will change what your trash collection day is.
"Please place your trash out for collection by 6:00 A.M."
The trash day rotates when there is a holiday. For example trash day is Wednesday now in the NAVY area and will be until Columbus Day... after Columbus Day the trash collection day for the NAVY area moves back to Thursday... after Thanksgiving trash day in the NAVY area will be on Friday... and after Christmas trash collection day will move to Monday.... for the NAVY area.
Holidays that affect trash collection include New Years Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day... Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
The 2008 Calendar is online. Early in 2009 there will be a new calendar...online.
You can't help but notice a "Refuse Division" with a mission statement, Columbus Refuse Division Mission Statement I first wrote about Columbus Ohio trash long ago on my first blog back in 2006....
Columbus has color coded trash
It's trash day in NAVY... I can hear them out there... the roar of the truck... the squeak of the arm...
