A lesson of determination at the fair

We went to the Auburn Fairs annual smash up derby on Sunday and I have to say it was a very learning experience.  Ok; I know what you're thinking Sandy how much can you learn from watching cars smash into one another?  Well let me explain If you where there then you notice the two cars that stood out the most that was the pink car (I love whenever a man can claim pink as his color) and the green car (looking slightly 80's to me)

they were truly the shiniest cars out there, and everyone kept saying the same thing they are going target those cars.  They being the pictures looking derby cars that looked like they were born in a Steven King novel and rose from some junk yard in just to do this not as a job but as a passion.
(Yes I'm still talking about the cars)

The crowd was staring at every hit as if it was a test of strength yet still judging them for their first impression as shiny and weak not giving them the respect that they did to the before mentioned typical derby cars.  Well soon it became visible the derby took the shiny out of them and they were just running on skill and determination, that's when I took the below picture and will always remember that day as the day shiny didn't give up.  Just because they dared to enter the ring with a wax job or even just clean that doesn't mean they where not ready to take the punches so when you feel like your out matched by something typically tuff just remember they are in there for the same fight and it's all about how hard you try till the end.
