Mother has not seen her Daughter in Six Years (Part Three) by Robert Swetz

Yumi (Cherry)

This is the latest update on Yumi (Cherry) coming to live with her mother in the United States.

We just received another letter from Homeland Security and the letter states the same thing as the other letters we have received from Homeland Security.

The letter states that they are reviewing the case and they won't tell us why or when this case will be resolved. This is very, very depressing news. Cherry's case was approved with Homeland Security October of 2005 and I have received almost 8 letters from Homeland Security stating the same comments in the last 3 years. We are reviewing the case, we can't tell you why and we can't tell you how long it is going to take.

Please feel free to check the other posts I have blogged several months ago:

MOTHER HAS NOT SEEN HER DAUGHTER IN SIX YEARS

MOTHER HAS NOT SEEN DAUGHTER IN SIX YEARS (PART TWO)

I was born and raised in America and I think it is the best Country in the World. But I am very disappointed with Homeland Security, and their incompetence to bring Cherry here.

Look at the photo at the top of the page! Does this look like a Terrorist to you? Why are they screwing around at Homeland Security? We have given them everything they need and the case was Approved three years ago. Since this approval one of Cherry's Uncles and one of her Aunts have come to America to live. They ask me all the time, when is Cherry coming to live with her Mother in America.

Here is what I think about Homeland Security! They are Discriminating against Mother's with Children from Foreign Countries. If these were Mother's from America with Children it would only be a matter of days before they were Reunited!

What is going on in this Country? I have been married to Cherry's mother for Seven Years trying to get her Daughter Cherry her to live with us. I have contacted President George Bush, Senator Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton and nothing.

Some people wait as long as 8 - 10 years for these cases. Part of it is the lack of workers at Homeland Sucurity, so they say and the other part is the under educated workers they have working at Homeland Security.

What is happening to this country? Has America lost it's Morals?

I do want to apologize to the members of Active Rain for my very sad and depressing blogs, but I would really like you to know what my life consists of. Thank you so much for reading and commenting.

I am leaving you with this wonderful photo that I took of Cherry and her Mother Nu Nu in May of 2008 and these are the smiles and joy that I want to see when Cherry first steps on American Soil.

And we are Praying that this is ASAP!

PS - This was a Members Only post, but I have a News Channel Viewing this Blog, so I changed it to Public.

PS - Don't be scared to comment, there have been many complaints against Homeland Security. There are thousands of cases like this one.

This is so very sad Robert.

Can't your wife stay with her daughter until the clearance comes through?

It's not depressing that you and NuNu want that beautiful little girl to be with you! That's a beautiful thing. What is depressing is the endless, seemingly frivolous red tape. You have to believe that it *will* happen. Pray for guidance continually.

Kris - Nu Nu has 4 different businesses that she bought since she's come to America. When we visited Burma in May & June she almost lost two of the businesses. Nu Nu's brother tried to run them, but had a very difficult time. I could run them if she stayed in Burma but only for so long because I work two other jobs. We plan to visit this coming Spring again in 2009.

Thank you so much for your comment!

Sharon - No it's not depressing that we want to bring Nu Nu's daughter here. But when we visited her daughter in May & June it tore both of them up when they separated.

Everytime Nu Nu's calls her daughter she cries and mentions to her mother you promises I could come to America and live with you and daddy. We continue to pray, but it seems like a endless story.

Some people wait as long as 8 - 10 years for these cases, part of it is the lack of workers at Homeland Sucurity, so they say. I think part of it is the under educated workers they have working at Homeland Security.

Thanks for the comment Sharon and your prayers are welcome.

Robert, This reminds me of the movie, "Not Without My Daughter".   I believe that is why people resort to smuggling children.

Jane - This is so very true and people with (BIG) money are behind it. Thanks for the comment and spread the blog, you have my permission.

Robert-I don't know any of the answers as to why they are delaying in bringing Cherry to America, but I will say this. The mother and daughter need to be together. I hope for both their sakes that everything will work out for them. I am going to start praying for them and know you will be blessed as well for helping to bring them back together and your efforts in adopting this beautiful little girl.

Robert this just isn't right. It sounds like Homeland Security is about as efficient as the government entities that overlooked salient details for years leading to the debacle we are in now. Nu Nu, Cherry, and you will be in my prayers and I pray that the years they have been apart will be restored to them. Can't you even get her over here on a visa to visit?

Robert - that is so sad.  It doesn't seem like a difficult task to bring one child into the country.  I hope it all turns out soon.  I couldn't even imagine having to leave my son in another country.

Laura - When you go to church on Sunday, try to get everyone in your Church to pray for Cherry. Group prayer is very powerful and thank you so much for your comment.

Sharon - Once Cherry applies through immigration, she can no longer apply for a visitation visa. We all ready tried this. Thanks anyway for your comment and advise.

Chastity - This case is very difficult and really it shouldn't be, we are on the second Attorney already because the first one wasn't doing his job and all he wanted was more money.

Thank you for your concerns and comment.

There are obvious flaws in our government.  It is going to take an overhaul of the entire system to strip out the chaff and return to the reasons why our country was established.  Hopefully your situation will be resolved quickly!

Robert - Cherry is beautiful like her mother and this story makes me sad for all of you.  I will pray that this situation will be resolved very soon so that you can all live together as a family.  You have a lot of support from everyone here......I hope that comforts you and your wife while you work through this insanity.

Best wishes.......Ann

Good luck in this endeavor.  It is a good one.  Children should not be without their mothers.

OK. Nu Nu is your wife. I suspected, but didn't want to assume.

As for the bureacratic red tape. It's typical, yet sad... and makes me angry! They make problems where there are none, and don't fix the problems we already have!
