Get an inspection, you won't regret it

To piggy back on my buddies Dale and Carl, it really is a great ideal to get a home inspection.  Whether you're buying a resale home or a new home, the price you pay now is the price you save later.  Building codes change all the time, so you must know how your home falls into that.  Also, don't be discouraged if your 10+ year homes doesn't fall into the local codes and you feel the home of your dreams you're looking to buy is going to be a headache, your agent should negotiate a one years service contract, paid by the sellers to protect you and your investment.

Dispite what the news is telling you, it is really a good time to be a homeowner.

Hello!Good post... you can not stress enough how important an home inspection is; no matter if it is a new home or existing home. I was just taking to someone you purchased a new home and is sorry now that they did not get an inspection. Thanks for this post Brenda :)

Sorry I had not gotten by your post be for now. I've getting some late starts visiting my friends lately. My lady and I have been looking to find a home to buy. Looks like we have found it. It's a 1930 home. I really like older homes.

The one thing folk's really need to remember, there just ain't no home that does not have a little something wrong with it. Most times they are not major things, but they still want to know about them.

Hi Frank!  Good advice.  It very rare I have a buyer that opts out of an inspection, and if they do I have them sign a inspection waiver form.

Brenda, Dale Karen, and Richard.  Thanks for stopping by, it amazed me that people choose to opt out of getting an inspection just to save a few hundred dollars!  The end up paying for it in the long run if they don't get one.

Buying a home without an inspection is even more serious a mistake than buying a used vehicle without an incpection.

Paul, thanks for stopping by, I've been so busy I've hadn't had time to stop by the "rain" like I want to.  I guess that's a good thing.  yes you are correct, but people still do it and I don't understand why!

Thank you Debbie, however I still have clients that won't have one.  I have them sign the document saying they have been briefed, yet chose not to have one.  I  have to cover myself at the end of the day.
