How to get unclaimed Property (Money) in Texas

I was searching for some information and found this site.  This is very interesting.  I think it is free.  This is just a great way to see if you have any money out there.

This is a Texas State run website.  http://www.window.state.tx.us/up/

Let me know what you think.

Disclaimer from Texas Comptroller.
State law requires the Texas Comptroller's office to hold abandoned and unclaimed property reported by businesses and financial institutions until its owners or their legal heirs claim it. The agency attempts to find the rightful owners of unclaimed properties through annual newspaper advertising, direct mail notices and the agency's Web site.

Interesting. I do not really watch but I remember a few guys advertise on tv that people can buy unclaimed properties for a few hundred dollars. So this sounds real now.

Huiting.

That is how they make money.  They get a free list then call you and charge you a finders fee.  If you really look you can find it yourself.

I found over $500 due me, filled out the paper work and had my check in about one week.

Richard.  It is pretty easy.  A lot of people just don't realize they have money or property out there.  With todays market I would be looking.
