Spectacular Waterfront 1920's English Cottage in Gales Ferry, CT!
Main Photo
Spacious stone and stucco English Cottage on 2.3 riverfront acres on the Thames River! Designed and built in 1929 by architect Alfred Diederich, five bedrooms, four full baths and two half baths and over 3700 square feet are found in the main house. Attached carriage house has full bath and separate kitchen area, and could be used for an in-home business, guest quarters or in-law apartment.
Gleaming hardwood floors throughout, magnificent architectural detail including cast plaster crown moldings, arched doorways, wood paneled dining room with built-in china closets, intricately engraved solid brass hardware on paneled entry doors and French doors, and alcove ceilings are just the beginning of the period delights you will find. 300 feet of direct waterfront and stunning sunsets complete the view from the rear patio or pool area. The original 1929 tile spans the kitchen from floor to ceiling and new Starry Night silestone countertops and SubZero, Thermadore, Zepher and KitchenAide appliances complete the wonderful kitchen. Mechanicals are all updated, including 200 amp electrical service, new Burnham steam boiler, 80 gallon integrated hot water tank and twin 330 gallon oil tanks. The home also has a state-of-the-art home theater system with a 100 inch drop down front projection screen with a 7.1 THX surround sound system. A separate Fosgate amplified system sends high quality audio signals from a rack mounted AM/FM receiver, 18 disc CD player, cassette deck or external input to six interior rooms and two exterior locations each with individual controls and speaker systems.

Very nice listing looks very enticing. Now all it needs is a Real Estate Show done on it with a You Tube video embedded in it. How Much?

Thanks Jay!   I'm finally starting to add my listings to localism and experimenting with V-flyers.  I need to get a system and start doing it with every listing.  I forgot to add the price.  $989,000 on the Thames River.

Linda, that is a beautiful house, now all I need to do is write as many loans as Phil does and I might be able to buy it :)

Linda: New England is in my blood, three generations of my family lived there before migrating west in the 1800s. This place beckons...must resist...must resist...must resist. That is a beautiful home.

Linda - this house is amazing!  The details are spectacular - the roof lines, the millwork and those ceilings!

This looks just like I would imagine a house in New England to look.  And I love vflyers, by the way.  They're bringing home the bacon on craigslist already.

Even the ceiling architecture on this is gorgeous and elegant. What a beautiful residence.  I did not realize there was a Thames in Connecticut.  And your photos are so wonderful.
