You may need to Early Vote.......and do it early.

Monday was to be my big day.  I blogged about it.  I was going to quickly early vote and check on foreclosures that were auctioned at 10:00 am.  I'd be outa there by 10:15 am.

I walked into the lobby and saw a line!  A fairly long line of voters and probably 6 or 8 helpers.  I decided that since I was there I might as well vote as planned and the foreclosure would soon be held in the lobby also.

Wrong!  There were so many early voters the foreclosure was probably held outside.  I couldn't leave my place in line so I missed the foreclosure.

That line was slow and it kept getting longer and longer.  It took me about 40 minutes to get up to the desk where they took my identification and passed me on.

My bragging about killing two birds with one stone didn't work.  I got one bird only.  I am glad, however, that I've cast my ballot.

According to the Arkansas-Democrat Gazette 21,560 people had voted early by 5:00 pm in the state of Arkansas.  9689 had returned absentee ballots in Arkansas.

I got confused with your blog and thought you were referring to "Vote early, and vote often!"  LOL!

Barbara,

We have a different theory in Washington State. It goes like this -- Vote early and vote often -- all in the same election of course.

Christina, thanks for reading!  And for commenting.

Steven, that's what Jim Crawford seemed to be saying!  The big problem would be standing in line over and over again.  One agent in my office said he'd just wait til everyone had voted early and then he'd  saunter down to the proper voting place on election day and walk right in with no lines!

Barbara - I hadn't thought about voting early.  But I've heard that there is to be a record turnout this year, so that's not a bad idea...  :)

Debi, voting early takes a load off your mind!

Michael, aren't you glad you've "been there and done that" at this point!

Actually Barbara, after the fiasco of our last election for Governor, at least in Whatcom County ALL voting is by mail. No more polling booths.

Steven, I think I'd love that voting by mail.  Course they'd say they never got a ballot or use some excuses for recounts.  Personally I'd like computer voting!
