I Rich, Now I know why you have all been so busy. I read this through once, have the general idea but will park here, come back and maybe add to this as I try to see how this all applies in real life in San Diego real estate.
William: There's a lot to absorb here. And it's important that our members fully understand the value of this feature. Brad will be publishing some helpful tutorials shortly that will take you step-by-step through the entire process. That should help you to better understand everything!
I don't think I like the sound of this. I write Localism posts for every city in our county, to make sure the public can always find me. And I place links within my regular posts, to the section of my web site that contains my listings. My web site already has IDX as well. If I get a buyer for an area I don't service, I personally find an agent for them, and refer the client to the agent I've found for them. This way my TIME that I've vested is the equivalent of money. This is intentional. I DO NOT like paying for what I can do myself. And I get a referral fee for the clients I refer. I am making money this way. Not spending it. Now am I misunderstanding this?
Lisa: In your instance, nothing will change. The quality content that you contribute will continue to attract potential clients to your blog, whether on Localism or to your ActiveRaiin blog/profile. All the traffic that comes to your content will be yours. Where this can benefit you even further is for people looking for properties in your neck of the woods, but didn't access the Network through your content. If they enter a property location that you've identified, this feature allows them to be directed right to your IDX, if you've elected to participate.
Brad Andersohn is posting some really simple tutorials that will help to explain thing better. After you've viewed them, feel free to ask me any additional questions or share any remaining reservations you may have.
Rich, More exciting things are happening here on AR. This looks to be a nice addition. Thanks
Rich,
Does this mean we can no longer post listings the way we were doing it for the last two and a half years?
Neal: How would this have any bearing on publishing our listings here on ActiveRain?
Ok, kinda freaky that jeff turners picture is showing up on Rich's blog...
Jeremy: Today is Jeff's Birthday, so, to pay our respects, we're all changing our profile pics and avatars!
Looks like a very promising tool for all of us. I am looking forward to putting it to good use!
Best,
Scott
I think I understand the value of what is launching, and it looks very interesting. However, I don't see any viable application as a stager, am I correct? It also appears we will not be negatively affected by the fact that there is no application for our purposes, am I correct? You guys certainly are busy coming up with new stuff to make things exciting! =o)
Rich,
How do know?...I was asking you..it seemed this has to do with listings or am I interpreting this wrong? Maybe the post was too long and I got lost on the subject.
Neal: This has no bearing or impact whatsoever to how we've been publishing our listings here on ActiveRain. This is simply another tool for you to utilize, that will drive traffic to your IDX feed.
Rich ~ First off, I would like to say that I like the listing router. I think it is a good idea to have a call to action at the top of the page. My question is... it we only set our markets and decide not to set up a campaign, will we still receive credits for clickout via the listing router from our blogs to out of the area agents that do have a campaign set up? Does that question make sense? In other words, is it possible to build a credit even if we do not have an active campaign?
Rich ~ Okay, I went back and I think I answered my own question. We need to set up a campaign and then opt out to receive credit. Is that correct?
Rich - I think that I've read every LR post now, but I can't seem to find any info on how LR handles multiple agents in one area. Does it simply rotate through the agents who are signed up? Is there an algorithm based on points or some other measure of contribution to AR?
Erik: Yes, the system will determine a rotation for areas where there are multiple agents who are claiming the same location.
Rich - I was going to ask the same question as Erik. It always makes sense to read all of the other comments. Now I'm going back to try again to sign up. I tried the first day and my cities were not recognized.
this is really interesting - I tried this today and will keep adding cities.
Good day
I am a loan officer and I just started learning about Active Rain. I teach Clock hour classes to Real Estate agents and one of my classes talked about this site. I joined so I could understand a bit more about the site. I got alot of information to help me understand the site from the members. I think its great even if you just read a few blogs to keep you positive. What do you think is Active Rains future? What will be added next ?
