Real Estate Agent

Wow! The early snow that arrived in Haywood County yesterday (October 28th) is breaking records! Our Cataloochee Ski Area is now open which is the earliest the Ski Area even been open for skiing!

“Cataloochee opened the season with an 8- to 12 inch base on two beginner slopes yesterday at 1 p.m., making it one of only three open ski areas in the country. The Maggie Valley ski area is second only to Loveland and Arapahoe Basin Ski Areas, both of which opened in Colorado on Oct. 14 and 15 respectively.”  (Read the rest of the local story here.)

Cataloochee Ski Area pre-season hours are: Monday through Friday from 1 to 10 p.m., and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays. Thanksgiving Day the Ski Area will be closed, but it will open during holiday hours the following weekend.  Holiday hours and rates will apply November 28 through 30. Hours for the regular season begin Dec. 15, with a few exceptions for special holidays.

Please check out the Cataloochee Ski Area website for lift ticket rates, snow reports, and updates on the operating hours before traveling! You may call the Cataloochee Ski Area office at 828-926-0285.

It's hard to imagine that it's snowing anywhere while I'm sitting here in the 93 degrees.

A few of my St Petersburg FL clients who own properties in North Carolina commented to me today that you already had snow.

NO, say it ain't SNOW! Wow!

I feel sorry for the folks up in New England...there Fall came and went in one snow fall!

I use to snow ski, but a bum knee ( and weak legs from to much sitting) would probably keep me off the slopes...but I guess I could dress up and "look" the part and just work the ski lodge and the bar! LOL!

Wow Susie, I did not know that y'all got that much snow! As I was going through Chattanooga, I could see heavy clouds to the east (mountains).  Must have been what y'all got...
