Hello everyone, I once again am coming to AR for some help.  I have noticed that when you go onto search engines I am not very high on the list.  Does anyone know what types of things I can do to move up or sites that I can go to that will help with that?  Once again, thank you to everyone on AR for all of your great ideas and suggestions, thanks again.

Most of all, you need a website that is CONTENT RICH. Lots of info...pages and pages. But also, you can't be generic. You need to think "niche". Do you want to work with teachers? First time home buyers? Relocation clients? You need to target your audience and then make your site rich with content relevant to that target market.

That is what does the trick in terms of natural results.

Best of luck!

Hello! Yes there is a little something you can do as far as positioning yourself on a search engine a little higher up the chain. its called websight positioning and my friend does it, its pretty much a tactic that very few know and it involves tricking the google robots to position your websight in the top 5 even number one on google. i have seen it personally and usually you need to pay someone to do it. the other way is if your doing your own frontpage work or html you want to be using alot of key words typically key words that someone might be typing in to google or a search engine to find what you offer. so think of all the key words for your header on front page. key words are key to being noticed on search engines , again this will only work if you have created you sight threw html. thanks and great question i hope i answered it well enough.

My name comes up when doing searches, my nickname sometimes, and my domain names occassionally.  with that said, I'll tell you how I got there.  I have received 3 awards, good neighbor njar and nar, and an award from a local charity I work with.  these resulted in publicity.  in addition, I am linked with some sites such as reals.com.  I am on realty times as local market expert, and I write a column for a website about the town my office is in.  Additionally I am listed on New Jersey visitors network and on a Gay friendly network.  Some of these have fees, some don't.  The realty times is money well spent if you keep up with your market reports.  People searching realtor.com who want a market report end up going to the town they are researching site on realty times.  I went to realty times but negotiated because I didn't want a commercial and couldn't afford that.  Realty times emails every month to me a newsletter I can print and a newsletter I can email to my customers.  In addition there is the link from my website directly to that day's real estate news.  If you can buy domain names that deal with your area, and/or your name, etc... you can point many domains at one site.  Hope this helps.  Melissa P. Andrew,

Go to www.google.com/local  ---  click on add/edit your business...You will need to set up a google account if you do not already have one. This gets your business in the google search.

Also you can do the same with Yahoo. Go to www.yahoo.com/local --- sign in if you already have an account or sign up. Just follow steps.

This is just 2 sites...there are many more.
