Are we there yet? Getting to the bottom of the real estate market in Atlanta

Over the last year or so, I've talked with dozens of first-time home buyers who ask "ARE WE THERE YET? When will the Atlanta real estate market finally bottom out?"atlanta real estate market

Just like playing the stock market, we won't know that we hit the bottom until the stock (or home) prices go back up!

The GOOD NEWS is that, over the last two months, I have read several articles from reputable sources that tell us that Atlanta is going to be one of the first markets to recover in 2009.  Take a look...

FORBES calls Atlanta one of the "Best Markets Likely to Rebound"

 On a personal note...

  • My phone is ringing (OFTEN) with buyers who would like to start looking for a home
  • Two of my listings received MULTIPLE OFFERS in the last 30 days
  • The number of visitors on my primary website (www.ATLhomesearch.com) have increased by 18% since the mid-September
  • Other agents and closing attorneys and loan officers in Atlanta are telling me that THEIR BUSINESS is picking up

I am a realist and don't have the crystal ball sitting on my desk, but based on my experience, the feedback from my colleagues, and several positive articles in national publications, it appears the forecast for Atlanta looks very good for 2009!

If you have any questions and/or if I can assist you in any way with your real estate needs, please don't hestitate to call.

HI KERRY!

That's great to hear!  I like to know that other areas are picking up, the glass is half full!  I wish you continued success!

KERRY:Half full half empty.  The future is unknown.  The buyers are waiting for the bottom and low interest rates, then you compare them to the buyers who bought at the end of the bubble. When is right to buy Real Estate?  Where it is good and holding on, others are seeing home sales slow.  I guess we will have to wait and see.  I am voting for an upward movement on Real Estate. Best of luck to you in the Atlanta Real Estate Market.

Kerry: I've had some phone calls as well, but still finding the renters! Hmmmm....

Much like the recession (they say it started A YEAR AGO) we will have passed the bottom of the market, and they we will be listening to the buyers saying "Gosh, why did we not buy last year?"
