Did you know that the "First Thanksgiving" as we call it, was not the First Thanksgiving to those who were there?

In 1621 at Plymouth, was not the first Thanksgiivng and people long before that celebrated different days of thanksgiving. Native Americans celebrated " Strawberry Thanksgiving" and "Green Corn Thanksgiving" going back way before 1621.

The English Colonists at Plymouth had a 3 day feast to celebrate their first harvest. Many Native Americans joined them. The English did not call this day Thanksgiving. A day of Thanksgiving was a day of prayer to God to thank God when really good things happened. The first Thanksgiving actually was in the summer of 1623. This is the day they gave thanks for the rain that ended a long drought.

Happy Thanksgiving to All of YOU!
