lately I have heard many of people creating self defeating prophecies. It is so sad to see that people tend to doubt their inner abilities. They listen to the media, they listen to others that pull them down, and in turn they pull themselves down to extraordinary low levels that can often take time to get the right attitude back.
Yes, these can be hard times. If you have the right attitude and even if it means equating a dollar for what we used to equate One hundred for then so be it. It does not mean that people have to beat the life out of themselves to think less of what they do everyday. Amazing opportunities are ahead of us. Great adventures, great markets, and the American dream has never went away but has been distorted if for awhile by economic growth, and lack of growth.
When you think back in History whether it be WWII, the early eighties and an economy troubled with high interest rates, the early nineties with the Savings and Loan problems, or recently, it is inevitable that adjustments take place and will be replaced with new thoughts and fostering of positive avenues and growth that we often forget about about what has taken place.
I for one find myself eating the blue plate specials that I really used to enjoy, and enjoy once more. I surround myself with talent and optimism that makes me want to pick up the phone in fear that another day will just go by without accomplishments.
I often find myself talking with my friend Sally Hanson (Sally is smart, straight forward, and could run NASA )Sally & David Hanson's Real Estate Blog .She will one day set her husband David and I on our wild game feed and remind me if I bring any antlers over to her house to eat that she will park us in the back yard to eat them because they sure are not going to come in her house. I daily, and with a given moment find that it does not take long to Google up Bob Proctor and get my daily fix of him and reminding me that we all have the talents, but we sometimes lack the attitude to use our talents and beliefs to their fullest capacity.
In my eyes, Michael Jordan said it best when asked what made him successful. He went on to say "The will to win is important, but the will to prepare is vital."He certainly proved that. As we break it down it is our daily game plan, what we set out to accomplish, and constantly working on our procrastination that sets us apart from what we one day want verse what we can have today. I was listening to Matt Ferry recently (http://www.mathewferry.com ) say that he was interviewing someone and he asked them what they truly were working on. They replied by answering their retirement. They said then that they would be happy. Matt in great wisdom replied with "Does that mean you are going to be less than Happy until then?" Well said Matt. Sometimes we do not have to look far to see the opportunity that has been front of our eyes.
