I have received a number of calls about the Bluwater Crossing Work-Live lofts being built in Carlsbad on Avenida Encinas. This new complex is adjacent to the Poinsettia Coaster Station (providing great commuting access practically from your doorstep).

In addition to the train, the complex is within ½ mile of shopping and several restaurants. It is also a walkable community in that there will be retail stores and places to eat within the community in 2 buildings. But the best feature may be its close proximity to the ocean, which is within walking distance.
Bluwater Crossing is being built with the environment and saving energy in mind. The proximity to the ocean will likely result in little to no need to AC. The exterior siding is green, and the manufacturers of flooring, cabinets and carpeting all use planet-friendly practices. Reclamed water is used for landscaping.
And with the mass transit system, folks don't even need to use their cars, further reducing the impact on the environment.
As you can see from the photos in the original article, significant progress has been made and Bluwater Crossing is really taking shape. I just checked with the sales staff and they have not yet released pricing on these units which range from around 2317 to 2795 SF for the 3-story work-live units. There are also residential-only units. My guess is given the size, the proximity to the ocean, and being new construction these units will start in the high 6 figures at least.
