I moved to So cal to get out of the cold.  I won't even go into the ocean here most time in the summer- too cold!

Tom, I hear about these crazy people doing it every year. I would have no desire to jump into the cold water. I wouldn't mind jumping into a warm pool at this time of year. In Washington state we have enough snow and cold weather to go around even though I know it is much colder where you live.

I'm with you Tom, I have not desire to jump in freezing water in the middle of winter!  But, if it makes them happy...

It's crazy. But it's cool to know that the tradition still continues!

Well, I moved from Oregon to Arizona because I thought Oregon was too cold.  Does that tell you how much I dislike cold weather.  I have a pool in the backyard, but wouldn't even consider jumping in that until around July each year, when it is about 84 degrees.

I've often wondered just what it is that motivates the people of the polar bear club to take this plunge.....they're certainly braver than I am and, as a result, have something unique to talk about at their
next dinner engagement.

I really thought you were going to tell me you were one of these fools in the picture. I'm really glad to see you have enough common sense to not do that jump, no matter how fun they say it is.
