Yes, today, the "somewhat" official first business day of the new year, is the day. It is the day to proclaim ourselves free of the negativity and challenges of last year's real estate market. Today is the day to tell the media, our buyers and our sellers, and anyone who will listen, that the real estate market is alive, well, and ready to rock.
We have lived through challenges and setbacks, upset sellers and confused buyers, agents dropping out along the way, and brokers asking us why we haven't put something on the sales board recently. We have survived the media blast (not always so kindly) about the real estate market's woes and we have worked and worked to remind everyone that all real estate is local.
So today, we start anew. January 1st may have been just days ago, and the tradition of celebrating a new calendar year occurred then. Today is the day to put the celebration, resolutions, commitments and determination to work.
Please join me in standing up a little straighter, holding our heads up a little higher, and chant together, as my Association President keeps saying "We'll be Fine in 2009".
My best to you and yours in this new year of real estate, which starts today!
