I Must be a Brain dead Idiot.

Ok, I must be stupid! I have been looking at the bailout for awhile now and come to one conclusion. I am either and idiot or I am clearly looking at things the wrong way. I post a tax plan that would raise 7 Trillion a year and eliminate all income taxes, yet no one bit. Now the bailout number of 700 billion is out there and I am confused again. Here is the way I see it.

Population of the United States on 1/19/2009: 305,646,520 people. That's every man, woman and child. There might even be a pet in there somewhere.

Ok, now we have 700 Billion in bailout money. That equals: $2290.23 per person.

Well the average Family has 4 people in it so that equals $9160.92 per family!

In true government fashion, let's make it an even $10,000 a family.

Now the highly intelligent people in Washington are saying the recovery may be a bit slow. Bull$%^&!!!! Send everybody $2500 hundred and then arrest the crooks including Barney Frank then watch the economy grow.

If you put 700 billion plus on the streets today, the economy would be fixed and fixed quickly. No rules or red tape. If you have a social security number you can claim your money. If you're a minor your parents can claim it.

Folks, it isn't complicated, Politicians just want to make it that way. With that much money on the streets cars, would sell and so would houses. Job growth would explode overnight.  Car companies and lenders would figure out a way real quick how to go and get the money from the public. Do they think I don't know how to spend my OWN MONEY!!

Sometimes simple works, Trust me!

Money is going to gangser-banksters on wall street while the common man on main street suffers. What next? Circuit-City Soup Kitchens?

uhmmmm... lets hope not.

I REALLY like the way you think!  Can you convince the Canadian government when you finish with yours?

I received this in my inbox a couple of months ago... if only we could do such a simple plan! All I did was remove the annoying >s

Shari

This idea sounds just crazy enough to possibly work, so naturally it won't
be given serious consideration. How great is our bureaucracy!!

Hi Pals,

I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.

Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend. To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide U.S.Citizens 18+. Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up.. So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billion that equals $425,000.00. My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend. Of course, it would NOT be tax free. So let's assume a tax rate of 30%.

Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.

But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00  in their pocket. A husband and wife has $595,000.00.

What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?

Pay off your mortgage - housing crisis solved.
Repay college loans - what a great boost to new grads
Put away money for college - it'll be there
Save in a bank - create money to loan to entrepreneurs.
Buy a new car - create jobs
Invest in the market - capital drives growth
Pay for your parent's medical insurance - health care improves
Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean - or else

Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that is cutting back.   And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.

If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it...instead of
trickling out a puny $1000.00 ( 'vote buy' ) economic incentive that is
being proposed by one of our candidates for President!

If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult U.S Citizen 18+!

As for AIG - liquidate it.
Sell off its parts.
Let American General go back to being American General.
Sell off the real estate.
Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.
Here's my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn't.
Sure it's a crazy idea that can 'never work.'
But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!
How do you spell Economic Boom?
I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion We
Deserve It Dividend more than I do the geniuses at AIG or inWashington DC
And remember, The Birk plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because $25.5
Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam!
Ahhh...I feel so much better getting that off my chest.
Kindest personal regards,
Birk

laugh or a tear or a very sobering thought on how to best use $85
Billion!!

It certainly sounds simple enough and far superior to any other plan I've heard about. Let me know when you decide to run for office.

Terry, I don't think $2,500 would do much for most people.  Shari's proposal is very interesting though!

Hey.  I offered to send the government my $10,000 about 6 months ago if they would make me the Czar of Common Sense.

I haven't heard back yet.

Surely they read my blog on ActiveRain.

Just so we are clear- not my math! I am not a lender for a reason! :) Wish those guys and gals in DC used their calculator and their common sense..

We totally should have a Czar of Common Sense- we could create a whole Dept of Common Sense and increase our workforce while using reality as a variable!

I am absolutely sure THEY (you know, the MIB) are RSSing my blog ;)
